Since I have spent so much money on a Z I can give you my thoughts about all this. 4 weeks to do all the things you did on your Z is just crazy. That is impossible unless you have 4 people working on your car for 14 hours a day. Another big bitch about having a high hp Z is waiting for parts. A lot of times, parts don't arrive when they should and a mechanic can only wait. Believe it or not, shops don't make big bucks by building projects like this because they don't charge by the hour, just by the job. There is more money to be made with cars that stay in the shop for a day or so. Hell, my car was at Primespeed for almost a year for the new setup but we both agreed it was both our fault. It was mine because I didn't have all the parts needed to finish the project and PrimeSpeeds because by the time I had all the parts that were needed, they had started too many projects before they got back to mine. I will bring my Z back there for any future work because I am happy with their quality of work. I also wanted to drive my car so bad that I didn't even leave them test drive my car, check everything, install the NOS etc.. because I wanted to drive my Z so badly. No probs as of yet so its all good :) I just have to go back in Spring to finish installing everything. When russel charged you $8200, was that for parts and install? If so I believe that is a very good price. New short block, TD05 kit etc.. I hope you guys solve these issues.
